Karachi Central District
Karachi Central District ((シンド語:مرڪزي ڪراڇي ضلعو) ) is an administrative district of Karachi Division in Sindh, Pakistan. It is located in the central part of Karachi.
The District was abolished in 2000 and divided into four towns namely Liaquatabad Town, North Nazimabad Town, Gulberg Town and New Karachi Town.
On 11 July 2011 Sindh Government restored again Karachi Central District.〔(Karachi’s district status restored, notification issued ), Published in ''The News Tribe'' on 11 July 2011, Retrieved on 22 August 2012〕 The Deputy Commissioner's office of District Central is located in Buffer zone of North Nazimabad Town, on the road connecting Sakhi Hasan Chowrangi and people's Chowrangi.
Urdu speaking Muhajirs form majority of the district followed by Punjabis, Biharis, Sindhis, Gujaratis, Rajasthanis, Gilgiti and Pashtun.
